    Joy Shannon Armstrong and Jorge Perez, Bardstown, were married Feb. 12, 2011, at Parkway Baptist Church.
    Rodney Lynch, associate pastor, Parkway Baptist Church, officiated the ceremony.
    The bride is a graduate of Nelson County High School and the daughter of Charles Armstrong and Darlene Boone, both of Bardstown.
    The groom is the son of Maria Ester Rivas Loredo, Panuco, Vera Cruz.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father.
    Maid of honor was Jessica Walker, Bardstown.
    The best man was Gilberto Paes, Bardstown.

    Danielle and Robert Tapscott, Willisburg, announce the birth of a daughter, Heavenly Sierra Nicole, March 20, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Maternal grandmother is Denise Allison. Paternal grandparents are Bobby J. Tapscott and Audrey Staten. Great-grandparents are Sylvia and Jason Tapscott, Springfield.
    The baby was welcomed home by a sister, Kylie, 2.

    Kyle and Jessica McKinley, Bardstown, announce the birth of twins, Jan. 29, 2011, at Norton Women’s Pavilion, Louisville.
    A son, Brayden Myles, weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    A daughter, Rebecca Louise, weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.

  • Dones celebrates 102 years

    Five generations were represented in the 85- plus guests as Evelyn Dones celebrated her 102nd birthday March 13 at Hunter’s Cove Sportsman Club.
    Guests included family members from Florida and Wisconsin. Dones, the oldest of seven children was born March 17, 1909, to Rodman (Doc) and Irene (Iry) Vowels in the Icetown area. She has lived in this area her entire life.
    She enjoys her pets, playing bunco, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
