    Sherran Dunn, Loretto, and Charles Larry Mattingly, New Haven, were married 7 p.m. Oct. 1, 2011, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
    The bride is employed by Humana Inc.
    The groom is employed by Heaven Hill Distilleries.
    The Rev. Timothy McIntyre officiated the ceremony.
    The bride was given in marriage by her son, Sean Dunn.
    The matron-of-honor was Rebecca Dunn Gooch, daughter of the bride, Pink Hill, N.C.
    Bridesmaids were Christie Dunn, daughter of the bride, and Sally Mattingly, daughter of the groom.
    The flower girl was Amber Gooch.

    Randy Gene Schlicht, Portland, Oregon, and Dena Marie Langman, Castle Rock, Wash., announce the engagement of their daughter, Brianne Marie Schlicht, to Eric Thomas Mitro, son of Mike George Mitro and Judy Anne Mitro, both of Bardstown.
    The wedding is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in Bardstown.

    Travis and Brooke Cecil, Bardstown, announce the birth of a son, Brody Dale, Oct. 25, 2011, at Suburban Hospital, Louisville. He weighed 8 pound, 4 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are James and Cathy Hayden, Bardstown. Paternal grandparents are Roger and Tish Cecil, Balltown, and Harold and Bonnie Johnson, Bardstown.

    David and Rose Preston, Bardstown, announce the birth of a son, Robbie Hunter, Jan. 4, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Barbara Ann Wassilieff, Phoenix, and the late Mike Sergei Wassilieff.
    Paternal grandparents are Richard and Johnnie Preston, Marietta, Ga.
    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Michael Viney, 13.

    Devin and Bridgett Hagan, Nicholasville, announce the birth of a daughter, Abigail Elizabeth, Nov. 25, 2011, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. She weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20-3/4 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Larry and Donna Wheeler, Bardstown. Paternal grandmother is Kyna Ward, Bardstown. Great-grandparents are Frank and Martha Wheeler, Sam and Catherine Barnes, all of Bardstown, David and Sue Smith, Shepherdsville, and the late Barbara J. Barnes.


    Ronald Lee “Ron” and Joyce Nevitt Greenwell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Jan. 13, 1962, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, Bardstown.
    They are members of St. Michael Church, Fairfield. Mr. Greenwell retired from United Parcel Service with 25 years of service and 30 years in the Teamsters Union. Mrs. Greenwell works for a local insurance company in Bardstown. They have two children and four grandchildren.

    Lucy Star Gabbert ( daughter of Josh and Laura Gabbert, Bardstown) and her twin cousins, Gaby Lynn and Silas David Smith (children of Jessica and Michael Smith, Louisville) took the Kentucky Standard with them to Destin Beach Florida during 2011 fall break.  They are the grandchildren of Roland and Karen Gabbert.

    Gene and Twila Hall, Bardstown, visited New York City to watch their son, Kyle, run in the 2011 New York City Marathon, and took The Kentucky Standard along with them.
