    Lindsay McGinnis of Bardstown, and Nicholas Wilkerson, of Bloomfield, were married at noon March 2, 2013, at Chalet Mountain Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
    The bride is the daughter of Patricia Royalty, of Bardstown.
    The groom is the son of Rodney and Pamela Wilkerson, of Bloomfield.
    Pastor Brian officiated the ceremony.
    The bride was given in marriage by Joe Bloom.
    The maid-of-honor was Katie Simpson, of Bardstown.
    The best man was Casey Bryan, of Bardstown.
    The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

  • Anniversary-Merideth

    Patricia and Danny Merideth will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, March 17.
    They were married in Louisville at Ormsby Height Baptist Church with family and friends.
    Danny Meredith was in many areas of retail. Patricia Meredith was a stay-at-home mother.
    They have two children, Angela Merideth Zizzo, of Bardstown, and Chris Meredith, of Louisville; and seven grandchildren.

    Mr. and Mrs. James Jarrett, of Bloomfield, announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Jarrett, to Chris Baxter, son of Robert Baxter and Theresa Baxter, of Winchester.
    The couple are employed by the Kentucky National Guard.
    The wedding is scheduled for 2 p.m. April 20 at Central Baptist Church in Winchester.

    Adam and Shellie Nalley, of London, announce the birth of a daughter, Alyssa Rosemary, Feb. 4, 2013, at Baptist Regional Hospital in Corbin. She weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

    Paternal grandparents are Charlie and Phyllis Nalley, of Bardstown. Great-grandparents are Jack Leroy, of London, and the late Doris Leroy, Dorothy Newton, of Bardstown, and Joseph Newton, of New Haven.
    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Nathan, 3.

    Pam and Charley Stinnett Jr., of Harrodsburg, announce the birth of a daughter, Abbigail Jaymes, March 5, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Sue and Joe Wade, of Bardstown.
    Paternal grandparents are Toni and Gary Simmons, of Lexington, and Kim and Charley Stinnett, of Harrodsburg.
    Great-grandparents are Peggy and David Freeman, of Harrodsburg.
    The baby was welcomed home by two sisters, Raegyn, 4, and Parker, 2.

    POW Col. Bean released
    Calls mother from Clark AFB

    Col. James E. Bean, a Prisoner of War in North Vietnam since January 3, 1968, was among the 108 American POWs released at Hanoi March 13 and may be back home by the end of this week. The group was flown immediately to Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.

    Widening Louisville Road, Ky. 245 top local priorities
    City and county officials hope to get two major road improvement projects in Nelson County soon.
    Both projects involve widening major highways — Louisville Road and Ky. 245

    Representatives from Nelson Fiscal Court, Bardstown City Council and the New Haven Board of Commissioners met with state Highway Department officials Tuesday afternoon. The group discussed road projects that would be part of the state’s six-year plan.
