    Scott and Marie Clark, of Cox’s Creek, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristina Noel Clark, to Thomas Zachary Hobbs, son of Ricky and Denise Hobbs, of Bardstown.

    The bride-elect is a registered nurse with Kentucky One Health.

    The groom-elect is an apprentice pipefitter for Clark Mechanical LLC.

    The wedding is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 9 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield.

    The reception will follow at Bishop Center in Bloomfield.

    Young farmer at Maud dead from gunshot

    Marion Lovell Carney, 30-year old farmer of the Maud community and a Navy veteran died Wednesday night January 8, at 8:10 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Lebanon, where he was admitted a few hours earlier for treatment of a self-inflicted shotgun wound in the heart at his farm home.

  • Watsons celebrate 50 years

    Steve T. and Dorothy Watson, of Bardstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 30, 2013.

    They eloped in Gatlinburg Dec. 30, 1963.

    They have two sons, Steve Watson and Craig Watson, both of Bardstown; and eight grandchildren.

    Their children will honor them with a reception at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, at their home, 3980 Murrays Run Road in Cox’s Creek. No gifts, please.

    Randy and Heather Adams, of Lawrenceburg, announce the birth of a daughter, Audrey Lynn, Nov. 27, 2013, at Frankfort Medical Center. She weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

    Maternal grandparents are Bobby and Betty Montgomery, of Lawrenceburg.

    Paternal grandparents are the late Ronald Adams and Diane Adams, of Loretto.

    Rick and Trina Loader, of Bardstown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Ann Loader, to Justin Kyle Baker, son of Steve and Donna Baker, of Shreveport, La.

    The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Bardstown High School, a 2006 graduate of Transylvania University and a 2010 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy.

    She currently works as a pharmacist for Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

    The groom-elect is a 2003 graduate of Captain Shreve High School and a 2008 graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

    Alaina Rivers Atcher, of Bloomfield, and Benjamin Drew Paxton, of St. Albans, W.Va., were married at 5:30 p.m. June 1, 2013, at Wakefield Baptist Church in Taylorsville.

    The bride is the daughter of Alan and Vickie Atcher, of Bloomfield.

    The groom is the son of Patrick and Polly Paxton, of St. Albans, W.Va.

    Bro. Tom Sparrow officiated the ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.
