    The bride is the daughter of Mike Thompson, Boston, and Kelly Wheeler, Elizabethtown.

    The groom is the son of Joe and Debbie Curtsinger, Boston.

    Nov. 18: The public is invited to an illustrated presentation, “The Road to Santiago” by Beverly Furnival, about her experience as a pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela (The Way of St. James), the medieval pilgrimage route in Northern Spain.  The presentation is 3 p.m. in room 212 in the Regional Postsecondary Education Center on the ECTC main campus.  Sponsored by the Division of Humanities & Fine Arts.  For more information, contact Jim.Murley@kctcs.edu or call 270-706-8881.

    Brandon and Lakiyn Osborne, Bardstown, announce the birth of a son, Eli Camden, Oct. 14, 2010, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Roger and Jeannie Kays, Bardstown, and the late Jimmy Litsey.

    Paternal grandparents are Mike and Judy Osborne, Bardstown. Great-grandparents are Shirley Jury and the late Bobby Jury, Gabe Osborne and the late Doris Osborne, the late Paul Rogers and the late Beverly Culver Rogers.

    Kelsey Waldridge, Taylorsville, announces the birth of a daughter, Kathryn Isabella Waldridge, Oct. 29, 2010, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Claudia Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Waldridge, all of Taylorsville. Great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. David Hilbert, Taylorsville, the late James and Valinda Waldridge and the late Kitty Stone.

    Matthew and Christina Stiles, New Haven, announce the birth of a son, Colton James, Oct. 15, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Mike and Roberta Love, New Haven, and Pat Westerman, White Mills. Paternal grandparents are Martha and Lanny Stiles, New Haven. Great-grandparents are Miriam and Paul Hagan, New Haven, and Delbert Love, Elizabethtown.

    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Brody, 3.

  • Brittany Hall and Trent Saxton

    Tammy and David Hall, Ethel, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Hall, to Trent Saxton, son of Joe and Karen Saxton, all of Slaughter, La.

    The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate and is employed at Tucker’s Seafood. She is the granddaughter of Linda and Ricky Piper, Bardstown, Bobby Breeding, Cox’s Creek, and the late Patricia and Franklin Hall Sr.

  • Curtis and Faye Rummage Hatfield

    Curtis and Faye Rummage Hatfield, Boston, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration given by their children Nov. 6 at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. They were married Nov. 5, 1960, in Tennessee.

    Mr. Hatfield is a lifelong contractor. Mrs. Hatfield is a teacher’s assistant for Bardstown Headstart for 17 years.

    They have four children, Donnie Hatfield, Tim Hatfield, Ann Dempley, all of Bardstown, and Julie Hatfield, Boston; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

  • Melissa Rakes and Mostafa Ghazi

    Melissa Jean Rakes, Bardstown, and Mostafa Ghazi Gharib Ghazi, originally from Tanta, Egypt, were married 1 p.m. Sept. 25, 2010, at the Baslical of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral.

    The bride is the daughter of Dr. Jerry and Kathy Rakes, Bardstown.

    The groom is the son of Magdah Hussein, Tanta, Egypt, and the late Ghazi Gharib Ghazi.

    The Rev. William Hammer officiated the ceremony.

    The church was decorated with white hydrangeas in small tin water pails lined down the aisle.
