  • WEDDING: Guthrie-Ulrich

    Payton Guthrie and Tyler Ulrich were married at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown.

    The Rev. Wayne Jenkins officiated the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Tink and Lucia Guthrie.

    The groom is the son of Jim and Sandy Ulrich.

    The maid of honor was Carlee Guthrie.

    Bridesmaids were Laurel Guthrie, Bethany Guthrie, Casey Fletcher, Amy Ulrich, Heather Ulrich and Samantha Ulrich.

    The flower girl was Mollie O’Daniel.

    Hannah Pennington, of Bloomfield, and Thomas Johnson, of Shelbyville, were married at 2 p.m. Dec. 3, 2016, at Willisburg Church of God.

    The bride is the daughter of Tim And Pam Pennington, of Bloomfield.

    The groom is the son of Jamie and Mary Beth Johnson, of Shelbyville.

    The Rev. Terry Burkhead officiated the ceremony.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

  • Douglases celebrate 65 years

    Joseph Vernie Douglas and Doris Jean Douglas will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Dec. 31. Vernie is the son of the late Mary Catherine and David Clint Douglas, of Bardstown. Doris is the daughter of the late Floyd Adrian Vowels and Annie Mary Vowels, of Bardstown.

    Vernie and Doris Douglas were married in St. Joseph Church in Bardstown. They have four daughters, Anna Kirk, Barb Gardner, Ginny WyKoff and Bonnie Clark; six grandchildren, (two of whom are deceased) and four great-grandchildren.

    Chris and Erica Montgomery, of Bloomfield, announce the birth of a daughter, Madison “Maddie” Mae, on Oct. 25 2016, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Gary and Becky Graves, of Springfield. Paternal grandparents are David and Diane Montgomery, of Bloomfield.

    Great-grandparents are Leo and Lula Mae Graves, of Springfield, Linda Richardson, of Bardstown, and the late James Richardson, the late J.T. and Flora Mae Montgomery and the late Russell and Dorothy Coulter.

  • WEDDING: Pettit-Hawkins

    Tabetha Lynn Pettit and James Robert “Jamie” Hawkins, both of New Haven, were married at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 in a private ceremony at a local distillery.

    Jeremy Riggs officiated the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Joseph “Mickey” Pettit and Lillie Pettit, of Bards-town.

    The groom is the son of Wanda Hawkins, of New Haven, and the late Maurice “Paul” Hawkins.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    The maid of honor was Abigail Pettit, daughter of the bride, of New Haven.

    Cori L. and Caleb J. Jones, of Bardstown, announce the birth of a son, Alexander D. Oct. 12, 2016, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Renata Lipinski and Dwayne Lipinski, of Bardstown.

    Paternal grandparents are Tammy Jones, of Owensboro, and Tony Ferrill, of Indianapolis.

    Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Wallace, of Safety Harbor, Fla., formerly of Louisville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Kraft Wallace, of Louisville, to Christopher Wyatt Hall, of Bardstown, son of Mr. and Mrs. John David Hall, of Bardstown and the grandson of Jack Downs, of Bardstown.

    The bride-elect graduated with a bachelor of science degree in health sciences from the University of Florida and a doctor of physical therapy from the University of South Florida.

    She is currently employed with Baptist Health Louisville.
