    Christopher Allen Sallee and Kelly Nicole Sallee, of Bardstown, announce the birth of a son, Cody Allen, Sept. 22, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19-1/2 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Kevin and Sherri Willett and Jenny and Kevin Lyvers, all of Bardstown. Paternal grandparents are Bob and Ruth Sallee, of Cox’s Creek.

    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Travis Robert, 3.

  • BIRTH: Lewis

    A.J. Lewis and Erin Claeys, of Bardstown, announce the birth of a daughter, Harper Raya Lewis, Sept. 13, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19-1/4 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are David and Jan Claeys, of Springfield.

    Paternal grandfather is Ray Lewis, of Bardstown.

    The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Rowan, 4.

  • BIRTH: Giordon

    Jane Anne and Jason Giordon, of Cox’s Creek, announce the birth of a daughter, Natalie Jane, Aug. 4, 2017, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Kenneth and Jane Coulter, of Bloomfield. Paternal grandparents are Brian and Mary Pochatko, of Sugar Grove, Penn.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Jackson, Moore

    George Jackson, of New Haven, and Marilyn Jackson of Bardstown, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Nikki Renee Jackson, to Eric Richard Moore, son of Rick and Mary Moore and Wayne and Sandy Hicks, of Owensboro.

    The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of University of Louisville and a 2013 graduate of Bellarmine University. She is currently a medical laboratory scientist, specializing in microbiology.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Mattingly, Cecil

    Charles and Debbie Mattingly, of Cox’s Creek, announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Ann Mattingly, to James Jarred Cecil, son of Joe Cecil, of New Hope, and Karen Greenwell, of Bloomfield.

    The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Nelson County High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Kentucky. She is employed by Kroger in Louisville.

    The groom-elect is a 2008 graduate of Nelson County High School. He is employed by Flowers Bakery in Bardstown.

  • Happy 103rd Birthday Louise Hagan

    Louise Hagan was born July 26, 1914 in New Haven. She celebrated her 103rd birthday Wednesday. A mother of five, Louise has 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Louise lived mostly independently until her late 90s and staff said she enjoys sitting in the sun and is still very mobile. Family members said her positive attitude is the key a long life. Happy Birthday Louise Hagan!

  • ANNIVERSARY: Hepkes celebrate 50 years

    John and Charline Hepke are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married June 24, 1967, in Louisville, and now reside in The Villages, Fla. Celebrating their 50 years together are their four children, Laura Hepke Hilderbrandt, Shelly Hepke Moore, John C. Hepke and Kelly Hepke Dessy along with eight grandchildren.

    John and Flo Sizemore, of Hyden, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jody Sizemore, to Jordan Littlejohn, the son of Joe and Janet Littlejohn, of Bardstown.

    The bride-elect is a teacher at Mountain View Elementary in Hyden. The groom-elect is a sales representative for 84 Lumber in London, Ky.

    The wedding is planned for July 6 at the Bahamas Resort. The reception will be July 22 in Bardstown. Invitations will be sent.
