  • Is this the year of new beginnings?

Wow! It’s 2008, and January is almost behind us. The number 8 is a Biblical number which speaks of “new beginnings.” It seems a lot of folks throughout the United States, and those I know in the mission field and evangelism are experiencing this. Changes can be unsettling as our flesh just doesn’t like it, but one thing I do know: if it’s the Lord’s will, it has to be good even though we may not understand at the moment.

  • Tollhouse temptation takes its toll on me

My friend, Shelley, in Georgia has a friend who thinks I lied in one of my books, or at least that I made something up.

Shelley, being a writer herself, knows that all writers (and most preachers) tell stories to illustrate truth. Sometimes the stories are their own; sometimes they belong to others.

Even Jesus told stories. However, Shelley’s friend thinks if something’s printed on the page of a book every word should be the gospel truth.

  • Worship God in truth and spirit

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” (Matt. 3:11).

  • Jesus is the reason for every season of our lives

It’s hard to believe that the Christmas season is already here. I have been meditating upon the birth of Christ and how it always points back to the resurrection and vice versa. Although Believers are celebrating the birth of Jehoshua-Messiah (The Lord Jesus Christ), it’s impossible not to reflect upon His purpose of coming. His whole purpose of His coming is that the Christian can have eternal life, and abundant life in the Now. He truly is King and Lord over all.

  • We're in the middle of it now, aren't we?

I don’t suppose this is a good time to talk about over-eating. And I’m sure not the one who could give the talk with any credibility. But the fact is, we’re right in the middle of the season of Feasts. It’s not just a Thanksgiving meal. There’s lots of them.
