  • Celebrate your Christmas joy every day

    By Rev. Bill Hammer

    Pastor, St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral

  • St. Joseph Church awaits archdiocese’s final approval for its planned fellowship hall

The planned fellowship hall for the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral will not only change the campus’ landscape, it will also provide more meeting space for the Bardstown-Nelson County community.

The 11,500-square-foot facility has not received final approval from the Archdiocese of Louisville, but the Rev. William Hammer, pastor of St. Joseph, said he wasn’t anticipating any problems.

  • Who is God’s favorite? Is it you or someone else?

When my kids were little they used to ask me, “Who do you like best?”

There’s really no way to answer that. How can you say, “Some days you and some days your sister”?

Or: “Neither of you when you’re fighting with each other over hair scrunchies.”

Even the standard “I like both of you equally” doesn’t satisfy a child’s question about who’s Mom’s favorite.
