  • Gratitude

By LEANNE ELY CNC, THE DINNER DIVA

Health is not always about just the body. Your mental health is just as important to have a well balanced life. I have a lot to be grateful for in my life. Counting my many blessings daily has helped me maintain a healthy mental attitude. It is a proven fact that showing gratitude can help lift your spirits, give you strength, and bring you peace.

  • Do you hate your mornings?

    By MARLA CILLEY, THE FLYLADY

Do you hate your mornings? Do you wake up in a bad mood? Do you feel like you got up on the wrong side of the bed? Your mornings do not have to be like this. All it takes is a little thought to change the CHAOS you have been living in.

That little thought is as simple as knowing what clothes you are wearing when you get up. If you will think about your morning before you actually have to face it, your mornings will run smoother. It all starts with a little before bed routine.

  • Creative leftovers

By LEANNE ELY CNC, THE DINNER DIVA

Holidays can leave us with lots of leftovers — I hope you stuck a bunch in your freezer!

When we remember to feed our freezer and have a plan for how we’re going to use leftover food, we can recoup our losses and not waste a bit of it. If you find that you’re feeding your garbage disposal, it’s time to get creative with your leftovers. So take note!

  • Seven tips for saving you time

    By MARLA CILLEY, THE FLYLADY

Every day all of us waste time searching for something and trying to make decisions. The funny thing is that the reason we are searching for an item is because we put off making a decision in the first place. Would you like to save some time?

Each morning we stumble out of bed in search of coffee or something to get us moving. We turn on the TV and get sucked into a morning program and before we know it, we are rushing around trying to get dressed so we won’t be late to work again.

    By MARLA CILLEY, THE FLYLADY

Here we are again embarking on a brand new year with all the joys and anticipation that it brings. In 1999 I woke up on New Year’s Day determined to get organized. That determination is what made it happen! The reasons behind that purpose had more to do with fear that people would find out my dirty little secret.

  • The Dinner Diva: Planning for success

    By Leanne Ely CNC

    The Dinner Diva

You know that old saying “Failure to plan is planning to fail?” This old adage holds true in our businesses, our homes, and every aspect of our lives. Flying by the seat of your pants only leads to stress, mistakes, and often costs you more time and money than you want.

  • The Fly Lady: It’s a small world thanks to the Internet

    The Flylady

In the last 15 years our lives have changed with the availability of the Internet. I will never forget the first thing I ever searched for on the internet. I was taking some classes at Brevard College. I was using a search engine called DogPile; this was before Google!

  • The most precious gift to give yourself

All of our lives we have spent putting out fires. These fires were started by our perfectionism and our procrastination. Along with panic of these fires come the squeals of martyrdom and yells of dissatisfaction. We have all done this and it is our family who have had listen to it.

  • Five bad foods

In a world where the list is king, doesn’t it make sense to know what not to eat in addition to what you should eat?

That’s how I look at it and you know how much I love a good list! The foods you should never eat are deserving of their own list too, don’t you think? But I’ve done one better on this particular list. While I’ve named the culprit in disturbing your peace (health and weight), I’ve also named the hero in restoring your well-being (big applause now).
