  • Solve the most common grilling mistakes

I’m a big fan of the grill but this isn’t another article expressing my unwavering love, rather, it’s a cautionary tale.

Though the grill may seem flawless, it isn’t always the case. The grill is a remarkably low-maintenance, but it does need some looking after. So, I’m going to make a little list of common mistakes you can learn to avoid from the start:

  • Getting our ducks in a row with Cozi

I am so excited to tell you about my trip to the great Northwest. Just sit back and visualize 18,000 yellow rubber ducks in a row and one purple one. The row of ducks was over a mile long through a park by a beautiful lake with Mount Rainier in the background. We had the most fun lining up these ducks to set a Guinness World Record. The best part was seeing the children of all ages get involved in the process. I can honestly say that I got my Ducks in a Row with our Cozi Family in Seattle.

  • Getting some help around the house

From the beginning of FlyLady, I have always insisted on our main rule: No Whining Allowed. I don’t believe that I have ever told you the reasons behind this FLY-Decree!

We have all caught ourselves in a whining mode. When was the last time you let those words ooze out of your mouth? This morning?

Why do people feel the need to whine? Let’s explore this for a bit.

  • Taking the edge off nutrition

It seems that the geometric triangle we’ve all associated with food has smoothed itself out into a more organic shape. We no longer have a food pyramid, but a food plate. The USDA has revamped that intimidating pyramid into a plate, dividing said plate into: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy.

  • How to avoid vacation dread

     THE FLYLADY

Does the thought of getting ready to go on vacation make you want to go crawl under the covers and hide for the rest of the summer? Vacations are supposed to be fun not a hassle. We don’t have to dread going on vacation. We always have a good time once we get there. So let’s start now and make it a joyous occasion. We can do this by taking babysteps using the tools that help us most: our timers and Control Journals.

If you’ve never experienced the summer and fall privilege of a farmer’s market, you’re missing out, big time. Here are some reasons you need to get yourself there:

  • Healthy snacks for hungry kids — Part 2

Last week I shared some ideas for feeding those hungry munchkins that are home for the summer. Need more ideas? These snack ideas came in from moms — tried and true snacks that are healthy and keep kids (and adults) happy. Try these out for yourself and see what you think:

1.Our favorite is celery sticks with peanut butter. Put a few raisins on top and you have “ants on a log.”

  • Ready your room to start your day right

Are you ready? Ready to start your day? Ready to start your week? Ready for what’s next in your life?

Most of us think we are but when an opportunity presents itself we slam the door in its face. All because we are not ready. We are not dressed, our houses are in a mess and we don’t have time right now.

  • Healthy snacks for kids

It’s summer. They’re home. They’re whining and, most of all, they’re constantly hungry. So what’s a mom to do?

    Feed ’em!

  • Take some time to stop and smell the roses

     THE FLYLADY

We live in such a frantic paced world. The world is not frantic; we are. We are the ones who choose to run around at the fast pace. Do we think we are ever going to make up for lost time? The world keeps turning at the same speed. All of us have the same 24 hours in a day and it is how we choose to use those hours that causes us to be so busy that we don’t take time for the simple things in life.
