In the aftermath of Christmas, lie credit card bills in waiting, messes to be cleaned up — figuratively and literally — and most spectacularly, a gigantic hole in the heart for so many people. Why is this? In this joyous of all seasons, these moments captured by Kodak, why do we feel like this?

Oh, how I love to get paid to shop! I adore getting checks in the mail for things I normally buy. There’s just something about it that makes me smile. I’ve gotten hundreds of dollars back from rebating in the form of checks and gift cards. Want examples? Here’s a few:

The holidays can be a stressful time for a lot of people, especially this year when it seems there is nothing but doom and gloom in the economic forecast. But folks who have lived through such times as this in the past, know a thing or two about not only getting by, but actually thriving. I think now is a good time to look at that.

  • Coupon basics from a coupon goddess

I digressed a bit last week with a lesson about online shopping but ’tis the season for spending a lot of your money on gifts and I wanted to let you know how to make others merry and keep more of your hard earned cash in your account at the same time. Hope you didn’t mind too much. Today, we’re back to coupons and I’m going to give you the basics.

I get asked all the time for ways to make dinner faster. I get that; we’re a microwave society. We want it quick, dirty and hassle-free. This is why convenience foods are so popular (and expensive and 99 percent of the time, full of chemicals and lacking nutrients).

Here are a couple of things that I do that help me get dinner done quickly and efficiently:
