Water violation no cause for concern, official says

Human error is blamed for seven recent samples testing positive for Coliform bacteria in a recent test of the Bardstown Water Treatment plant.

Follow-up tests showed no signs of the bacteria.

Coliform bacteria can be an indicator of dangerous bacteria such as fecal Coliform bacteria or E. coli, but all follow-up samples were negative for these bacteria, water officials said.
