The driver of a white Camaro that flipped around the 9-mile marker of Loretto Road Friday afternoon climbed out with only a few scratches.
Francis S. Clark, 28, of St. Francis, was traveling south on Loretto Road as a light rain fell about 1:12 p.m. Friday. About half a mile outside Bardstown, he lost control of his vehicle and the car flipped into a ditch on the west side of the road. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper C.G. Perry, Clark was driving too fast for road conditions, at 50-55 mph.
Clark was able to climb out of the car through its back window, and though he was assessed by Nelson County EMS, he turned down a hospital transport.
The Bardstown-Nelson County Fire Department and the Nelson County Sheriff's Department also responded. Traffic was held up about an hour.
