As new businesses open and Bardstown greets the influx of summer visitors, the unemployment rate is improving — at least according to numbers released by the Kentucky Department of Workforce Investment last week.
In the past year, 95 percent of the civilian workforce in Kentucky saw less unemployment, said Manoj Shanker, state economist with the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
