Two indicted for Evergreen Court drug trafficking

A Bardstown man and woman charged with trafficking in methamphetamine have been indicted.

According to a press release from the Bardstown Police Department, police executed a search warrant at 127 Evergreen Court Dec. 23 following an open investigation into alleged trafficking from that location.

Officers located scales, crystal meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Maranda Cowles, 26, and Gerald Tucker, 31, were indicted for complicity to first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, complicity to second-degree trafficking in controlled substances, complicity to first-degree possession of a controlled substance, complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia, complicity to trafficking in marijuana, and possession of a prescription not in a proper container.

According to the indictments, Cowles and Tucker possessed methamphetamine in amount less than two grams with the intent to sell or transfer it, possessed Hydrochloride in an amount less than 20 drug units with the intent to sell or transfer it, possessed heroin, possessed drug paraphernalia, and possessed marijuana in an amount less than eight ounces container.  Cowles' bail was set at $9,500 cash, plus conditions, and Tucker's at $50,000 cash, plus conditions.

Tucker is a first-degree persistent felony offender having previously been convicted of first-degree wanton endangerment, and complicity to third-degree burglary.

They are set to be arraigned in court Jan. 21.
