The Stephen Foster Drama Association will hold local auditions for the 2018 productions of “The Stephen Foster Story” and “Mary Poppins” on Saturday, Feb. 24, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Bardstown High School.

Adult auditions for those 18 and older will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by ages 13 through 17 at 1 p.m. for volunteer apprenticeship positions. Appointments are strongly recommended and can be made by emailing billyb@stephenfoster.com. Youth auditions for both shows will be announced at a later date.

“We have opportunities in both “The Stephen Foster Story” and “Mary Poppins” for local performers of all ages,” said managing artistic director Johnny Warren. “Each year our cast includes performers from all over the country who come to Bardstown to perform for the summer. I also like to include local talent when possible and strive for a good balance of local and non- local performers. That’s part of what makes this cast special. Tourists enjoy the fact that we have Kentuckians in the cast. I encourage anyone locally who enjoys singing in a choir or has had experience in community theatre musicals to audition for us.”

Audition details and requirements can be found by visiting stephenfoster.com/auditions. The 2018 season begins on June 9 with the 60th season of “The Stephen Foster Story.” Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at stephenfoster.com/tickets or by calling 800-626-1563.
