RIVER RAT: It's always tough to see the coaches move on

Coaches come and go in this line of work.

Every year around this time I get a sense of joy and satisfaction over another school sports year in the books — this year was my fifth — but there’s also always a little bit of sadness.

I know, I’m not supposed to get too attached, especially given the sometimes revolving-door nature of coaching in high school sports. In those five school years here, I’ve probably dealt with as many as 75 different coaches. Most were great to work with; some … not so much.
