Centering Prayer workshop
Contemplative Outreach of Kentucky is offering an Introduction to Centering Prayer workshop hosted by St. Catharine Motherhouse, Hwy. 150 west of Springfield, on Sunday, April 2, 1:30-5 p.m. The ancient form of prayer without words is helpful for those who desire to be aware of God within self. Annual African American Catholic Leadership Awards banquet
The Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry will host its 30th annual African-American Catholic Leadership Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at the Galt House Hotel. A silent auction begins at 5 p.m. The dinner is to recognize African-American Catholic leadership in the Archdiocese of Louisville. All proceeds go toward scholarships to assist African-American Catholic youth with secondary and post-secondary education. Four scholarships will be awarded. Among those who will be recognized for their leadership is Belonda Hays of St. Monica Catholic Church. Raven Drake of Bardstown will also receive the African-American Catholic Leadership Award. The Room in the Inn homeless program runs through March 31. The intake center is located upstairs in the St. Vincent de Paul building at 310 N. Second St. Every day from 5 to 6 p.m., guests can sign up and be directed to a place to stay. Community churches have joined together to take care of homeless people in their facilities. Community Bible study
The Community Bible Study Bardstown Women’s class of 2016-17 is a non-denominational study. The class meets Thursdays 9:15-11:15 a.m. at Parkway Baptist Church.
