Christmas Sunday services

Nelson Christian Church, 1760 New Shepherdsville Road, will have their Christmas Sunday services on Dec. 21. Bro. Tom Mobley, senior minister, will preach at the chapel service at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served in the fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m. At the 10:30 a.m. worship service, Bob Russell, retired minister of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, will bring the message. Special music will be provided by the Children’s Choir and the NCC Men. The community is welcome. For more information, call the church office at 348-3495.

Special day of worship

The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church invites the community to a special day of worship and praise Sunday, Dec. 21. During the morning worship service at at 11 a.m., four young people will be baptized; the adult choir will sing about the birth and death of Jesus; and the pastor will bring a message of hope.

‘Gift Wrap, Please’

At 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, “Gift Wrap, Please” will be presented at First Cedar Creek Baptist Church. This short play depicts two women wrapping gifts in a department store and the customers they serve. In a dream-like scene, one gift wrapper sees three Wise Men visit Mary, Joseph and the young child, Jesus, giving him gifts that she had wrapped.

Christmas Eve candlelight service

The annual Christmas Eve candlelight worship service of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church is at 11 p.m., Dec. 24. Violin and piano solos, choral music, Scripture readings and memories will be featured.

Christmas Eve service

The community is invited to a Christmas Eve service at the Big Spring Bloomfield Presbyterian and Trinity Baptist Church in Bloomfield. The service is at 5:30 p.m. at 148 Fairfield Hill. Christmas concert

Nancy and Vernon Cherrix will give a Christmas concert at Loretto Motherhouse on Tuesday, December 30, at 10:30 a.m. They will play piano duets of Christmas songs. All are welcome. Admission is free.
