Candlelight Christmas Eve service

The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church will have a Candlelight Christmas Eve Worship Service 11 p.m. Dec. 24. The service will include the College and Career Monday Night Class presenting “O Come, All Ye Faithful” in sign language and a posed nativity scene; Riley Hatfield, 4, reciting John 3:16 and singing a portion of “Happy Birthday, Jesus;” Ruthie and Tommy Walton playing carols on violin and piano, respectively; TFCCBC Adult Choir; remembering Christmases past; and, interspersed throughout the service, scripture reading of the prophesy and birth of Jesus.

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions will be received. The church has exceeded her $1,000 offering goal and is now giving to meet a challenge goal of another $1,000.

On Christmas Day, Sunday School will be 9:45 a.m. and morning worship service at 11 a.m. There will be no evening service. Also on Christmas Day is the monthly worship service ministry at Life Care Center at 2 p.m.

Activities and worship services of the church are open to all. For more information, contact the pastor Tim Lucas at 348-3832. The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church is five miles west of Bardstown off Highway 62 (Boston Road) on Highway 733 (Bellwood Road).

First Christian candlelight service

First Christian Church, 175 E. John Rowan, will have its Christmas Eve Candlelight services at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 24. The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Pat Berry and the Handbell Choir, under the direction of Fred Allen will perform traditional and special Christmas music. The congregation will join in singing carols and scriptures will be read telling the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The public is invited. Please bring a candle that will be lighted and will represent your family.

Mount Moriah Christmas service

Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Boston will have morning worship 10 a.m. instead of

11 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Christmas Services at the Episcopal Church

The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 211 N. Third St., Bardstown, will two services 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Dec. 24, Christmas Eve. The church will also host its annual Christmas Eve Open House 4-10 p.m. Dec. 24. A quiet, reflective service of Holy Communion will be available 10 a.m. Christmas Day for those unable to attend Christmas Eve.

Bloomfield Christian Christmas Eve service

Bloomfield Christian Disciples of Christ Church will be having a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 11 p.m., Dec. 24. Everyone is welcome.

St. John Christmas service

St. John A.M.E. Zion Church, 219 E. Brashear St., will have Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.

All are welcome.

Botland Christian Christmas Eve

The annual Christmas Eve service at Botland Christian Church Disciples of Christ will be 7:30 p.m. Dec. 24. The service will include the play, “The Living Nativity,” Advent candle lighting, candlelight communion service, music and scripture. Refreshments and fellowship will follow downstairs along with a visit from Santa. Christmas morning service will be 10:30 a.m. Dec. 25. There will be no Sunday school. All are welcome.

New Beginning Christmas Eve Service

New Beginning Baptist Church will be having a Christmas Eve candlelight service 11 p.m. Dec. 24. Everyone is invited. Christmas morning services will be cancelled the following morning.

Nelson Christian Christmas service

Nelson Christian Church will have a special time schedule for Christmas morning, Dec. 25. The 8:30 a.m. chapel and 9:40 a.m. Sunday School are being dismissed for that day. There will be a special 10:30 a.m. worship service and this will be the only service of the day. This allows families to open gifts in the morning as well as to travel to extended families for dinner. The church is at 1760 New Shepherdsville Road. Dr. Tom Mobley, Minister, will bring the morning message. Others in the congregation will bring special music. The congregation’s youth minister, Marc Mobley, will lead preschool worship. His wife, Katie Mobley, will lead elementary worship. Nursery will be provided. Congregation will resume regular scheduled services the following Sunday on New Year’s Day. The community is invited.
