Bardstown police were still searching for suspects Thursday in an armed robbery at Advance American Cash Advance in Kentucky Home Square shopping center. In a 911 call from the store at 12:47 p.m. Thursday, the store manager reported that a white male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a slim build, dressed in black clothing, a dark hat and a black ski mask, had made off with about $120.

“He had a gun and he demanded money. Once he got the money he told her to go to the back of the store,” Bardstown Police Chief Charles Marksbury said.

Detective Lynn Davis said the suspect apparently led the manager, who was in the store by herself, to the back to conceal his means of escape. Police are still uncertain whether the suspect fled in a vehicle or on foot, Marksbury said.

Police were working with neighboring businesses Thursday in the hopes of acquiring video footage of the robbery, but Marksbury said no video had yet been found.

Police arrived on the scene at 12:48 p.m., one minute after the emergency call was made, Marksbury said.
