When people in Nelson County think public health, Janet Bee, RN, comes to mind. Bee was an employee of the Lincoln Trail District Health Department for 35 years. She started in 1972 at the Nelson County Clinic as a part-time family-planning nurse and in 1973 became a full-time employee as a public-health nurse. She stayed at Nelson County Clinic throughout her career and became clinical director in 1996. She retired in 2000 and was a PRN nurse for the Lincoln Trail District until 2007. She sat on several boards throughout her career and volunteered at the Nelson County Community Clinic. Bee died in February 2010.
