The recent revelations brought out about city government brought back a lot of memories for me when I worked for state government years ago.
The argument has been about the separation of government and politics. Most agree that while on government time using taxpayer dollars, no one should be doing anything of a political nature and, if so, he or she should be punished. That sounds great, and in a perfect world, would be what is happening. It is not the way it works.
