NWS issues heat warning, temperatures expected to reach 105 degrees

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning and hazardous weather outlook for Nelson County.

Extreme heat will continue today with afternoon temperatures topping 105 degrees. Heat indexes are expected to reach 110 degrees.

The excessive heat warning will stay in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday afternoon temperatures are also expected to peak around 110 degrees. 

Possible isolated thunderstorms could hit the area Saturday afternoon. Chances of thunderstorms will likely continue Wednesday.
