Nelson County high school students Tori Gambrell, Lindsey Lawrence and Melissa Schenck recently returned home from Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL). Gambrell, Lawrence, Schenck and 43 other high school students from around the state attended the five-day summer leadership conference, June 13-17 at Murray State University.

An identical IFAL conference was also June 20-24 at the University of Kentucky for an additional 43 students. Nelson County high school student Whitney Crume attended the conference at the University of Kentucky.

IFAL is designed to expose high school students to college life while helping them explore the different fields of study for careers in agriculture.
