Nelson County Court indictments from Feb. 1

Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following people have been indicted by a Nelson County grand jury. They were set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court Feb. 16.

Dennis Brandon Hicks, 30, of New Haven, first-degree possession of controlled substance, first-degree possession of controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts possession of legend drugs. On or about Dec. 16, 2016, Hicks possessed heroin and methamphetamine, attempted to conceal a baggie with methamphetamine, possessed unspecified pills, possessed drug paraphernalia and possessed Xanax. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Kayla M. Boone, 27, of New Haven, complicity to first-degree promoting contraband, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, complicity to first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree persistent felony offender. On or about Oct. 4, 2016, Boone, acting alone or in concert with three others, unlawfully introduced heroin, marijuana and tobacco into the Nelson County Jail, attempted to conceal a jail surveillance camera, and damaged property belonging to Nelson County Jail. Boone is a persistent felony offender having previously been convicted of tampering with physical evidence. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Brandon S. Parrott, 19, of Bardstown, complicity to first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia. On or about Aug. 24, 2016, Parrott unlawfully sold methamphetamine, and possessed drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Unark L. Cooper aka Narky Cooper, 30, of Bardstown, complicity to first degree promoting contraband, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, complicity to first-degree criminal mischief. On or about Oct. 4, 2016, Cooper, alone or in concert with three others, unlawfully introduced heroin, marijuana and tobacco into the Nelson County Jail, covered a jail video surveillance camera, and damaged property belonging to the Nelson County Jail. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Timothy L. Yonts, 46, of Bardstown, complicity to first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree persistent felony offender. On or about Aug. 24, 2016, Yonts, alone or in concert with another person, unlawfully sold methamphetamine and possessed drug paraphernalia. Yonts is a persistent felony offender having previously been convicted of first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, assault under extreme emotional disturbance and second-degree manslaughter. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.

James Daniel Carey, 31, of Bardstown, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree persistent felony offender. On or about Oct. 12, 2016, Carey possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Carey is a persistent felony offender having previously been convicted of first-degree trafficking in controlled substances. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Orville Justin Case, 20, of Bloomfield, trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia. On or about July 8, 2016, Case unlawfully sold synthetic drugs to a confidential informant and possessed drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Larry A. Morgan, 22, of Bardstown, first-degree possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia. On or about Jan. 4, 2017, Morgan unlawfully possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Brandon S. Parrott, 19, of Bardstown, two counts first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. On or about July 21, 2016, Parrott unlawfully sold methamphetamine and possessed drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $9,500 cash, plus conditions.

Justin M. Browning, 26, of New Haven, first-degree possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana, first-degree disorderly conduct, giving police officer false name or address, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, public intoxication. On or about Oct. 26, 2016, Browning unlawfully possessed methamphetamine and marijuana, caused a disturbance in a public place, gave a police officer a false name or address, resisted his arrest, received stolen credit cards and a drivers license, and appeared at a public place under the influence of a controlled substance or other intoxicating substance. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Kristyn Hall, 26, of New Haven, complicity to second-degree burglary, second-degree possession of a forged instrument. On or about Aug. 16, 2016, Hall, alone or in concert with two others, unlawfully entered or remained in a residence with the intent to commit a crime. Through Aug. 6 – 17, Hall unlawfully possessed forged checks with the intent to defraud, deceive or injure another. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Robert F. Garret, 24, of Bardstown, second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, first-degree persistent felony offender. On or about Jan. 11, 2017, Garret unlawfully entered or remained in a residence with the intent to commit a crime and unlawfully took a television. Garret is a persistent felony offender having previously been convicted of possession of handgun by convicted felon, second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, and complicity to theft of firearm, theft by unlawful taking and third-degree burglary. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Keaton Gardner, 27, of Sonora, complicity to second-degree burglary. Sometime in Aug. 2016, Gardner, alone or in concert with two others, unlawfully entered or remained in a residence with the intent to commit a crime. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Ashley N. Ramsey aka Ashley N. Hood, 28, of Bardstown, complicity to first-degree promoting contraband, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, complicity to first-degree criminal mischief. On or about Oct.4, 2016, Ramsey, either acting alone or in concert with three others, introduced heroin, marijuana and tobacco into the Nelson County Jail, concealed a jail surveillance camera and damaged property belonging to Nelson County Jail. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Carlton Cody Cornish, 20, of New Hope, first-degree possession of controlled substance, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, seven counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, public intoxication, menacing, possession of drug paraphernalia, third-degree criminal trespass. On or about Dec. 31, 2016, Cornish unlawfully possessed cocaine, resisted his arrest, engaged in threatening behavior, appeared in a public place manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance or other intoxicating substance, cursed and acted disorderly toward police officers, unlawfully possessed drug paraphernalia and unlawfully entered the premises of #33 Thomas Lane, Bloomfield. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Kimberly A. Gilpin, 27, of New Haven, complicity to first-degree promoting contraband, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, complicity to first-degree criminal mischief. On or about Oct. 4, 2016, Gilpin, either acting alone or in concert with three others, unlawfully introduced heroin, marijuana and tobacco into the Nelson County Jail, attempted to conceal a jail surveillance camera and damaged property belonging to the Nelson County Jail. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Sarah Beth Johnson, 29, of Bardstown, complicity to second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking. Sometime in August 2016, Johnson, either acting alone or in concert with two others, unlawfully entered or remained a residence with the intent to commit a crime, and unlawfully took power tools, televisions and other belongings in the residence. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Joseph L. Stivers, 21, of Bardstown, first-degree possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, trafficking in marijuana. On or about May 30, 2016, Stivers possessed cocaine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana, and intended to sell the marijuana. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

Sarah Beth Johnson, 29, of Bardstown, receiving stolen property. On or about Dec. 7, 2016 Johnson received a laptop belonging to Salt River Electric, knowing that it was stolen. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

Samantha A. Robertson, 30, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia. On or about May 23, 2016, Robertson unlawfully sold methamphetamine and possessed drug paraphernalia. Bail was set $9,500 cash, plus conditions.

Sarah Beth Johnson, 29, of Bardstown, theft of identity of another without consent, 13 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, theft by unlawful taking or disposition. On or about Dec. 2, 2016, Johnson stole another person’s identity by using a driver’s license, possessed several forged checks, and unlawfully stole money belonging to another person. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
