Man sentenced to five years, receives probation in child porn case

David E. Drahos, a Bloomfield man accused in a child pornography case, was sentenced Dec. 13 in Nelson Circuit Court.

According to the judgement, Drahos was sentenced to five years in prison for one count of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Drahos had entered an unconditional plea of guilt Sept. 30. Drahos had originally been indicted in June on two counts, but the second was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Drahos was granted probation for a period of five years provided he serve 90 days in the Nelson County Jail, have no contact with the victim, register as a sex offender for 20 years and forfeit his cell phone, among other conditions.

Drahos was arrested in March after cyber crimes detectives opened and investigation and seized his cell phone, according to a press release from the Bardstown Police Department.

According tot he guilty plea filed in the case Oct. 3, Drahos possessed naked photos of a 15-year-old girl on his phone.
