Man accused of a dozen sexual assaults

A Bardstown man is suspected of raping a mentally incapacitated person on multiple occasions.

Robert S. Manely, 48, was indicted on 10 counts of second-degree rape and two counts of second-degree sodomy in Nelson Circuit Court Wednesday.

The indictment states that Manely engaged in sexual intercourse with a person who is mentally incapacitated sometime between June 1 and Aug. 31, 2011.

Manely’s bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions, with arraignment scheduled for 1 p.m. March 8.
