Have you ever been on a ghost tour in Bardstown? The ghost walk with Patti Starr is supposed to be really interesting. Employees of the Kentucky Standard visited the ghosts at Talbott Tavern one afternoon and the jailer's inn. Now I wasn't too scared on that one and it was very informative. The Spirits of Wickland has a more family friendly tour beginning 7 p.m. Nov. 13 and every Friday after that. Take a few friends and enjoy. I've been to Wickland and I felt a very peaceful sense of the place. Tickets are $15 and for reservations call 507-0808.

Nice Tour but Did not like the Hoaxing

I went with several visiting friends to a walking ghost tour a couple years ago, to Jailers Inn & Talbot tavern, & will NEVER go back. It was enjoyable, her history of the places & stories were very entertaining, HOWEVER her attempts at "Helping along" the sprits or what ever she was doing really spoiled the whole trip. She was SMACKING her EMP detector saying things like "OOOOH the sprits are here see? *SMACK* SEE? see the indicator light *SMACK* go *SMACK* on? If your WHACKING the danged thing OF COURSE its going to blink!!! We actually left early, it was very interesting until she started doing stuff like that.
I Actually had to Apologize to the people I brought. It was embarrassing. I would MUCH rather go on a tour, see nothing, than see someone faking like that, I just felt disappointed & Insulted.

*Note - This is James B speaking not Marcella.

Spirits of Wickland Tour

I have been to this twice and loved it. Loved the girls & Dixie's story on The History of the House. I took some great photo's to. I probably will go back for the third time since I liked it so much and have friends that want to go.!!!

I went to Wickland and it was

I went to Wickland and it was a fun experience even if you don't believe in ghosts. Seeing this historical house at night and imagining it, with the help of your guides, as it once was made for a really unforgettable experience.

A skeptical view

I have to say, I'm pretty skeptical of any account of an encounter with the spirit realm. Call me cold and logical, but I think most of these experiences can be explained or are grounded in a more natural phenomenon. However, even though I've never been on a ghost tour, I think as long as you come to such an experience with an open mind, it can be enjoyable. If the opportunity came up to go on a tour, I don't think I would turn it down.
