Having a gun on a public school campus in Kentucky is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, but that could change under a bill before the state legislature.
HB 249, proposed by Rep. Tim Moore, R-Elizabethtown, would allow any adult with a concealed carry permit, such as a parent, to walk into a school building with a handgun in her purse or hidden under his jacket.
