B’town squad 2nd in pro-am

The Bardstown Country Club No. 1 foursome of Chris Osborne, Chad Riggs, Gilbert Brown and Robbie Hinkebein fired a 123 Monday at Wildwood Country Club in Louisville to tie for second.

The event was the 2012 Powerbilt/Bionic/Page and Tuttle Mega Pro-Am, where the home squad from Wildwood won with a 119. The Bardstown group tied with the Charlie Vettiner club squad.

A second Bardstown Country Club squad placed in a three-way tie for 15th in the 40-team competition, shooting a 131.


Robinson, Cox in Jr. events

Local youth golfer Corey Robinson, who competes for Bethlehem in the fall, shot an 84 Monday at the Pepsi Junior Golf Tour event at Bowling Green Country Club to place ninth in the 15/16-year-old division. He was seven strokes off the winning mark set by Kyle Jury of Elizabethtown.

Lauren Cox, Chaplin, was in action Friday at the Pepsi event at Wild Turkey Trace Golf Club in Lawrenceburg. Cox shot a 107 in the girls’ 13-15-year-old division.

Robinson picked up a victory last week in Pepsi junior play, shooting an 89 to take his division in the event at Shelbyville Country Club Thursday and win by four strokes.



Congratulations to Danny Lockhart, who aced the par 3, 155-yard hole No. 9 at Cedar-Fil during the Wednesday night league last month. The feat was witnessed by John Hart, Ryan Nally and Stewart Hawkins.
