Council tables hiring more city employees

Before the city hires any new employees, Bardstown City Council members concluded Tuesday they need more information on why the positions are necessary.

After a lengthy discussion, council members decided to table the first reading of an amendment to the classification/compensation ordinance, which would allow for three new positions: a crime scene technician and a part-time evidence technician for the Bardstown Police Department, as well as a utility stock clerk to serve the city’s electric, cable and public works departments.
