Community Band seeks new members

The Community Band of Nelson County will rehearse Feb. 2 for the 2012 concert season and is still seeking new members to fill out its roster. Of special need is a snare drum player, and clarinet, saxophone and trombone players. Adult musicians of any ability are welcome, and openings exist for all instruments; high school students are accepted with their teacher’s approval. The band is now preparing for its spring concert on March 16, and is under the direction of Marc Monroe, band director at Nelson County High School, and assistant directors David Coffing and Ken Distler.  Rehearsals are 7 p.m. Thursdays at the Nelson County High School band room.
