City dumpsters: Why do we have them?

If you have ever walked by one of our downtown dumpster sites in the summer, you know what I am talking about. They smell terrible, look terrible and really give our tourist trade a good impression of Bardstown.

The smell comes mainly from the use by restaurants in the vicinity. They have no other place to put their waste, and the spillage and age before pickup gets outrageous. Besides this, there are people from who knows where putting everything from leaves, computers, couches and a lot of stuff that the garbage truck cannot even haul.
