Bardstown’s city councilmen had some young, uniformed visitors at their meeting Tuesday night. Members of Boy Scout Troop 721 attended to learn about local government and see their city officials at work.

They chose a night, however, when the council had an especially light agenda. Except for signing off on some decisions by the development and historical review boards and the approval of some cemetery deeds, the only action taken by the council was the reappointment of four board members: Beth Hawkins and Bruce Reynolds to three-year terms on the Historical Review Board, Dixie Hibbs to a three-year term on the Tree Board and Jesse Wheat to a four-year term on the Bardstown Board of Adjustments.

During staff reports, Fire Chief Marlin Howard talked about the firefighters’ response to a large fire on a farm, and Police Chief Rick McCubbin talked about arresting a Cracker Barrel employee for giving a false report of an attempted abduction.
