Gov. Steve Beshear announced Thursday that Kentucky’s bourbon industry has undergone its largest expansion since prohibition during the past two years. Distilleries in Nelson County, as well as others across the state, continue to financially impact local and state economies.
“During the worst economic crisis and recession of our lifetimes, the bourbon industry has been a very bright spot not only in Kentucky but in this entire country,” Beshear said. “Distilling has helped Kentucky weather this global economic crisis.”
