Boone Ride will raise funds for Hospice of Nelson County patients

-A A +A
By Amy Taylor

The second annual Hospice of Nelson County Horse Ride is Saturday, May 24. This fundraiser has an original touch, because most Hospice fundraisers involve food tastings or fashion shows or annual direct mail appeals for donations.

The Boone Ride is special, because it has a history. It is always a memorial to Phyllis Riggs Williamson and Tommy Riggs, who lost their battle with cancer. Their families schedule horse rides every year and donate every penny earned to charity.
