Blue Grass Parkway under construction

Construction began July 2 to resurface a five-mile stretch of the Blue Grass Parkway in Nelson County.

The eastbound and westbound lanes between mile markers 24 and 29 are expected to be under construction through November, said Chris Jessie, public information officer for District 4 of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The work will replace the road’s concrete surface with asphalt, Jessie explained.

“The road is in bad need of rehab. Anyone that drives it can probably see it,” he said.
