Ty and Elizabeth Shaffer, Charlotte, N.C., announce the birth of a son, John Samuel, Dec. 24, 2011, at Carolinia Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20-1/2 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Joseph Leo and Bertha Mayer, Cox’s Creek. Paternal grandparents are Barry and Laurie Shaffer, Tampa, Fla. Great-grandparents are John and Opal Shaffer, Mount Alto, Pa., and Bob and Mary Bell Staley, Chambersburg, Pa.
