Bardstown Middle receives literacy grant

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded the Bardstown Middle School Library/Media Center with a $3,000 grant to purchase additional books during the 2010-2011 school year.  “A web-based Accelerated Reader Program was added last school year, increasing the demand for books,” explained Tracey Cahoe, Library Media Specialist, who applied for the grant.  “Paired with increased demand, tighter funding has made it more difficult to keep library materials current,” Cahoe said, ”so we are very grateful to have Dollar General partner with us.&rdqu
