Bardstown City Schools has announced its members for the screening committee, which is charged with reviewing applicants for superintendent and presenting recommendations to the Board of Education.

State law requires certain representation on the committee and representatives were previously voted to the positions. The committee comprises a board representative, a principal representative, two teacher representatives, a classified representative and a parent representative.

Representatives for the committee are:

• Board appointee — Kathy Reed

• Principal — Chris Pickett

• Teacher — Tom Morgan-Hunt

• Teacher — Alissa Clark

• Parent — Holly Sparrow

• Classified — Roman Hardin (technology services)

The committee will screen all candidates and report its recommendations to the board on March 20. Any questions regarding the screening committee can be directed to Phil Eason, a consultant with the Kentucky Association of School Administrators, which is assisting BCS in conducting the search process. Eason can be reached at 270-799-1256 or at phil.eason@gmail.com. The district plans to appoint a new superintendent in May. The position came open after Brent Holsclaw announced his plans to retire at the end of the school year.
