To the editor:
The recent Nelson County Fair was a wonderful surprise for my husband and me Saturday. The $10 gate fee was the best money we had spent for years. The agriculture exhibits were fun and informative with live animals, teaching games and displays.
The food was good, reasonably priced and even homemade — “elephant ears” rolled out by hand and made from scratch by the mother of a 4-H member. That’s one lucky kid! We watched a remote control small truck pull, a big truck and tractor pull and listened to a great country band to “top off” the evening. We ’ole timers’ even road the ferris wheel and relived past memories.
Thanks to members of the Nelson County Fair Board and others for an evening of affordable fun for everyone. Bardstown might just be “The Most Affordable FUN Town in America” also!
