Here’s a sampling of events you might want to check out

July 4: Get ready for a blast of a time in Bullitt County at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre from 4 p.m. to fireworks at 9:45 p.m. The 11th  Annual Fourth of July Bullitt Blast has a host of exciting activities for a perfect “Old Fashioned” Fourth of July celebration, including food vendors, exhibits in the Salt River Hall, and the 14th armored military display of past war tanks and trucks. Admission is free.
 
The center currently features works by more than 650 artisans from 100 counties across the Commonwealth. Special exhibits on display include “About Face: Kentucky Artisan Works Inspired by the Human Face,” through Aug. 26, and “Commissioned to Create: Works by Artists Who Created the Governor’s Awards (1995-2011),” through July 29, an exhibit developed by the Kentucky Arts Council. Through July 8: The Headley-Whitney Museum Presents:  “The Cutting Edge II:  A Gem and Jewelry Invitational” through  July 8, 2012.
The Headley-Whitney Museum is a decorative arts museum founded by famed jewelry designer George W. Headley and is home to his jewelry designs and eclectic collections.  The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday noon-5 p.m., with the last tour at 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays.  We are located along the scenic corridor of Old Frankfort Pike, Lexington.  Call the Headley-Whitney Museum for details at (859) 255-6653 or visit www.headley-whitney.org.
July 15: The Kentucky Center Presents Jazz Sensation Diana Krall At Whitney Hall 7 p.m.
