15 earn GEDs from Springfield ECTC campus

-A A +A

Approximately 15 people from Washington and Nelson counties received a second chance at entering the workforce with a high school degree recently.

According to Wanda Lewis, an academic assistant with the Nelson and Washington County Adult Learning Centers, those 15 people graduated with GEDs at the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College campus in Springfield.

Everyone receiving a GED, she said, has their own story to tell and have faced unique challenges like pregnancy at an early age, drug addiction or dropping out of classes before high school.
