‘Heroes for the American Red Cross’ kicks off locally

The weather has been unpredictable this winter. Seasonal cold temperatures gave rise to house fires caused by electrical heaters while excessive rain causes flooding in surrounding areas. The need for assistance isn’t subject to season but local support from organizations such as the American Red Cross Nelson County Chapter.

The local chapter responds to an average of 50 natural disasters each year including ice storms, tornadoes, home fires and floods.
