The OKH Geography Bee attracted about 60 contestants in grades 6 through 8. The contest is open to schools throughout the United States and can include students in grades four through eight. Newton has advanced to the next level of competition, which has already involved completing a written examination to determine state competitors. All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and the first place prize of a $25,000 college scholarship. The national competition will take place May 22-24, in Washington, D.C.
